Agiofarago

A rugged canyon leading to a hidden seaside
aradise—offering adventurous hikes, seasonal waterfalls,
and a pristine pebble beach for intrepid travelers.

About

Agiofarago is a secluded gorge-and-beach complex on Crete’s southeastern coast, about 45 km west of Sitia. A narrow dirt road leads from the village of Skaloti to the trailhead, where a 5 km round-trip hike descends through towering limestone walls, lush Mediterranean vegetation, and a seasonal waterfall. The gorge exits onto a small, unspoiled pebble beach backed by sun-bleached cliffs and a crystal-clear bay. Its remoteness ensures minimal crowds and an authentic back-to-nature experience.
